What´s needed to decrease the number of suicides? People like you.

Once every sixth hour a person takes his or her life. In that moment in time they leave all their worry, fear and anxiety behind. Still, this act is a cry for help.

This is why support and help for those who think about or plan to kill themselves is of vital importance. We all have to accept and overcome the fear to talk about depression and other mental disturbances. How do we face fellow human being with mental problems and where should they turn when our effort isn’t enough?

The number of suicides has not decreased. This can only mean that the means are not sufficient enough.

Part of our work is a youth project called “The Life Line”. A helping hand for youngsters who suffer mental trauma, or live in a relationship with mentally disturbed persons. The origin of this project is the fact that suicide is the most common cause of death among boys between 15 and 24 years of age. In addition to this, more and more girls take their lives. Some “fail” and gets a new chance in life, a new possibility to hold someone’s hand and try to explain how they feel.

Suicide Prevention Western Sweden is a non-profit, politically and religiously independent association with the mission to increase knowledge about how to prevent suicide and suicide attempts. Our goal is to make good forces come together and develop proactive suicide prevention.

Proactive work around lifesaving through mental insights can avoid and prevent many people from killing themselves.  Hopefully we can save all lives in the near future. No one should really have to go as far as committing suicide as a last resort.

In order to continue our work we need committed people like yourself. Please support life with a donation to IBAN number: SE44 9500 0099 6042 0900 1686 Swift-adres NDEASESS.
